About Harmony YarnCraft

Welcome to Harmony YarnCraft! I’m Eileen, and I’m passionate about all things yarn! I’ve been a crafter for as long as I can remember, and first learned to crochet from my Mom when I was a child. She was strictly a blanket-maker, so I spent many years sticking to projects like afghans, throws, scarves, and an occasional bag or poncho.

In recent years, I’ve expanded my crafting repertoire, first by stepping outside my crochet comfort zone to explore garments and other pattern and stitch types. More recently, I’ve challenged myself to learn Tunisian crochet. Currently, inspired by my Aunt who made the most beautiful sweaters that have become family heirlooms, I am finally learning to knit, after numerous unsuccessful attempts since childhood.

After a career in accounting & finance, I decided to expand my knowledge base by studying Law. A car accident shortly after passing the Bar Exam forced me to revise my career plans. I’ve shifted my entrepreneurial focus to encompass my love of crafting. I am now a qualified Crochet Tech Editor, having been personally trained by Carol Ibbetson, a well-known UK-based Tech Editor and pattern Designer. My wife & I relocated from the NYC area to central Florida following her retirement, where we live with our dog Minnie and 4 cats: Brody, Molly, Tigger and Gus. When I’m not doing yarny things, you may find me exploring Walt Disney World, singing with a local choral group, camping with family, or enjoying a big mug of tea while watching true crime documentaries or period dramas on TV.
