Finish-or-Frog-It #10: Cordelia Tee
The Cordelia Tee is a crochet pattern by Holly Woodward Designs. It is a boxy tee that is worked in two panels from the bottom up with filet crochet detailing near the neckline on both the front & back and on the shoulders. It is designed to use DK weight cotton yarn, so that makes it breathable and hopefully perfect for the climate here in Florida.
Instead of the 100% cotton yarn that the pattern calls for, I pulled Hobbit Happy Place Solid yarn from my stash. This yarn is a collaboration with Toni Lipsey of TL Yarn Crafts, and is 50% Cotton/50% Wool. Despite what you may have been taught, lightweight wool makes for great summer garments.
I completed most of the first panel of the Cordelia Tee before it was relegated to the WIP pile at some point in early Fall of 2024. Most of the pattern is pretty repetitive until you reach the filet sections, and that’s where I was when I put this down.
When I pulled everything out of the WIP pile to start my Finish-or-Frog-It month, I was pretty sure right away that this one would end up being frogged. The pattern is fine. The yarn is fine. The color is, well, pretty gorgeous, but a little bright for my usual taste. Nothing truly stands out that makes me say that I need to finish this one.

But today, when I pulled it out to make my decision, I realized how very wearable this will be when it is finished. The panel that I have almost finished is light and soft and will be wonderful to wear. And that’s before blocking.
I may end up adding some extra length somehow to make it more my style. I hope that I have enough of this color in my stash to add some kind of ending. If not, maybe I’ll pick a contrasting color for the sleeve edging and bottom border, and add it to the neckline too. We’ll see. But in a complete surprise to me, I’m going to finish this one.
Are you finding any surprises in your Finish-or-Frog-It journey?
